CCleaner is a freeware PC optimization tool, one of the best known cleaning tools available. I used it for quite some time during my Windows years (noy avaiable for Linux) and never had any problem with it. I'm fully aware, that most cleaning tasks could be made manually as well, but sure never as convenient as with
CCleaner
It combines a system cleaner that removes unused and temporary files from your system and also a fully featured registry cleaner, it includes a range of options that go far beyond the basics of system clean-up. In addition to regular tasks as emptying the recycle bin, getting rid of temporary files and clearing out MRU (most recently used) lists, the program will also wipe-out unnecessary memory dumps, file fragments and a range of information stored by other applications.
All options are easy to configure.
Several options are on hand to ensure the registry is free of obsolete or incorrect entries and a useful tool is available to take control of start-up programs.
CCleaner allows Windows to run faster, more efficiently and gives you more hard disk space.
The best part is that it's Small, Fast and Free!
One note: you have to close Firefox browser before you let the CCleaner run
